"Star" is a 52 lb black female sired by International Field Trial Champion, Fendawood Drummer https://vimeo.com/163215796 . Star's dam is also sired by an International Field Trial Champion, Lesser Burdock Abbotstone. In order for a dog to become an International Field Trial Champion, they must have won field trials in at least 5 countries in Europe. A truly amazing feat. Both of those dogs also gained their Master Hunter status after being imported to the US.

Star is an incredible young dog. You can see the video of her naturally retrieving a dummy the day we received her at 8-weeks old. She did so many things at a young age that people were shocked and amazed when watching or hunting with her. We have included many videos of her training and hunting as she's developed.

All of Star's training came so easy, as she thrives on training sessions and is extremely willing to please. Her high desire to learn new things overflows into her home life as well. You can see her retrieving lemons off our tree on command or fetching her bed from the other room, so she can lay down on it where we are sitting. You name it and she will retrieve it.

Star is a very gentle dog with a very kind nature and was required to be trained that way. She loves everybody she comes in contact with - at car washes, airport transports, stores, parties, neighbours, walks, hunters. Where there's people, Star is there to greet them and swindle some love! Her "off switch"is that which people talk of when describing British Labs. She will wait quietly on her mat when asked in the house and she is a fantastic traveller. She sleeps in the back seat of the truck, the minute you get on your way and she has been on countless flights in her kennel in the cargo area of the plane when we fly to the US.

In the field, Star is rock steady in the blind. When asked, she is an absolute firecracker. She is so fast that she routinely retrieves multiple downed ducks or geese in the decoys within a minute, then she's right back to being steady and quiet in her Mutt-Hutt or in our A-Frame Blind where she hides. She runs down cripples like a linebacker and takes hand signals at long distances. Star has literally retrieved dozens of birds during big hunts like snow goose shoots with lots of shooters.

Star is a fantastic Upland Game hunter. She tirelessly works cover and stops to flush, only to retrieve when given the command. There have already been multiple great retrieves on wounded and running pheasants, even though she is still young at the age of 3 1/2 years old.

Really, one of the only reasons we are breeding Star is because so many people have declared that, "you must breed that dog, as she is truly amazing!". I have multiple references upon request. I figured that the only way I would breed her, was if I bred her right back to the very best, which is why I have gone to significant expense to import frozen semen from one of the most celebrated kennel's in England and in fact, the one where half of her breeding originated - Fendawood Kennels.

Last but certainly not least, Star has been checked and certified in the following health areas:

Hips - OFA Excellent (it is not common to have an excellent rating for hips)
Elbows - OFA Good
Eyes - OFA Clear of any genetic defects
Heart - OFA Clear of any genetic or structural defects
